Frequently Asked Questions

What is the day's programme at Club Piou Piou?
The day's programme is designed to respect the children's rhythms. Outside the periods when children are learning to slide, time is divided between snack breaks (remember to slip a small snack into your child's pocket. We recommend drinkable compotes or yoghurts), potty breaks, games and the discovery of the snow and the mountain environment.
Can the children ski straight away?
Your child may need a little more time to acclimatise, get used to the new surroundings and discover a new world... Let them take their time, depending on their motivation and desires.
How should I equip my child?
Equipment is not included in the price of the course, so remember to bring it with you before the first lesson.
Advice: Shoes in the correct size with only 1 pair of socks. Trust the professionals for the adjustments. Helmets are compulsory.
How should I dress my child?
- Warm, comfortable, waterproof jacket, salopettes or overalls.
- Mittens rather than finger gloves.
- Mask or sunglasses (attached with a cord).
- UV protection factor 3 minimum.
Can we attend our child lessons?
Stay "hidden" behind a slalom pole to watch your child: it's only human, but your little one will spot you quicker than you think, and that will likely make them cry or take away from them their will to ski and have fun with their new friends! Instead, ask for a short review at the end of the session. We have your telephone number (to give to our hostesses) and in the event of a problem or major grief we will contact you quickly.
What if my child cries on the first day?
The Piou-piou club remains a group class that each child discovers at their own pace. Some children will be more active than others, so don't worry if you see your child waiting on the side for a while, they can't always be in action; the instructors will take care of them and gently encourage them to return to the group. The professionals at Club Piou Piou have enough experience to recognise the tears of separation linked to fear of the unknown. They will do everything they can to reassure and distract your little ones. Dialogue with parents is essential.
